Been A While

A stare

Holds your eyes

You try to look away

Realizing that you cannot

They blink

You blink

It holds

A step

Makes you lean forward

You do not know

What will come

To follow

A slip

Makes you look away

Lets you to fall

And

When you go to look again

You find an empty space

No one to look at

Nothing to look to

No one to step towards

Nothing to step towards

But

That stare, those eyes

One step, of many

You never forget

Because

They remind you of something

That you had not remembered
