Freedom

This one may sound a bit odd, sorry about that. I wasn't actually thinking when I wrote it..

Locked in chains
Trying to walk
But too heavy to move
One step and I stop
Stuck with these chains on me
In a cage like the birds at the zoo
Trapped in metal
For the entertainment of others
I want to fly
Fly away free
Like the birds
Who aren't in cages
But I cannot for these chains hold me down
And I am stuck
Stuck but I can hope
Dreams to fly
Like those birds
Wish for freedom
But until then, I will wait
Wait for my wings
So I can fly away
Away from this prison
With nothing to hold me down
Like these chains
Yes, for now
I will wait patiently
I will hope

Dragonflies

Dragonflies are as light as feathers
They are paper airplanes riding the air
And many are as blue and green as the ocean
They probably love bulrushes swaying gently with the soft wind
They are almost as fast as the rush of water
Dragonflies are descents of dragons
Full of agility, intelligence, and bravery

Thunderstruck

In the garden, pale pink blossoms
Covered a blanket of soft green grass,
In Spring.

The sky darkened, as a storm arose.
Trees in the orchards tossed their heads on agony,
Rage;

A single bolt of lightning speared down from the cloudless sky,
Killing the tree in an instant;
From that day on, not a single blade of grass by the blossom tree prospered.
Dead

Dusk to Dawn

When Mother Nature sends out a yawn
In the forest, a rustle, a fawn

As bats awake at the last rays of intense light
The moon takes her place in the midst of the night

She jumps the clouds higher, higher rising in the sky
Ascending through the silver fairies of night as they fly

The fairies of night fly around and around
Illuminating their auras against what they surround

Bringing dawn along with them
And an aroused sun shining bright like a gem

As Mother Nature catches her breath
She stops at the viewing of the glorious light

A light that even stops death
One that had great might

As the birds start to chirp at the last rays of gentle white
The sun takes his place and becomes the center of the light

When I See You

This is for my grandfather. I really miss you but I hope you're happy wherever you are. Happy Birthday!

When I see you
I remember the big smile plastered on your face
Everyday
The smile that always brightened my day
On the face that I always looked up to

When I see you
I remember when you'd hold me up to the sky and
Let me touch the stars falling down, the loud pop
Of a firework followed by bright colors covering us all
On your favorite day

When I see you
I smell the food made by the hands of a little
Girl who tried
Tried too hard to make them proud
Only to be rewarded

This little girl played outside with a little boy
One summer
Her mother calls her in and gently tells me
You left
Not where, not when and she never asked

When I saw you
I remembered your joyful laugh
Very contagious
The cure for it all
Except this

When I saw you
I heard you walking through the room
Calling, calling my name
And telling me the adventures of your day

But he missed it
That fateful summer
You were stolen and he will never know
He, who excitedly spoke of all you would do
He, who would smile and laugh all day
And might
He, who dreamed of always meeting you,
Learning with you, growing with you
He, who is just like you
He'll never know and neither
Will you

You, who are remembered
And will never know, learn, plan, talk and play
You, who will never be
Forgotten

Blowing the Flame

Falling
Can't hear anyone around me
Tears, silent drops of pain
Hurting
Can't see, can't feel, only numb
Hope, trying to stand
Only
To fall back down again
Forever

Change

The top of a building
Deep in a pool
Alone in the dark
No one at your side

One small makes a difference
Trip
You fall, and never stop falling
Caught
You sink and just cannot breath
Sleep
And you never know if you are awake
Mistakes
And no one to tell you
That you are wrong

One small makes a difference
Imagine
A passage to escape
Hope
To gasp air
Fire
You can finally see and know you are not
A dream
Truth
Open your eyes to see that you
Have never been alone

One small makes a difference

What Is This?

Well, this is all about writing. Poetry, feelings, emotions, all that cheesy stuff.
Everyone has their own "thing" where they are able to let everything out. Frustration, anger, happiness, excitement, sadness, confusion. I am not really sure whether or not this is my "thing" or not but, I love to write what I am feeling when I am emotional, I love to express my thoughts in words. I just wanted to put it out there that it is okay to feel down, to always feel happy, to feel that you do not belong or that you are neglected. Just always remember that you have to look all around you to see the whole picture. Not just straight ahead. So I hope you like this and if you have anything you need to share, want to share, feel like sharing, go right ahead and do so.
